A character or characters can be moved (kerned) left,
right, up or down.

Mode, all characters to the right of the cursor
position also shift when pressing SHIFT CHAR +

Unlocked
Mode, only the selected character shifts. In
Unlocked Mode, SHIFT CHAR doesn’t operate if the cur-
sor is over a blank space.
In
Locked
Mode, characters cannot be shifted beyond a
Tab Starts and Ends. Once a Tab Start or End is encoun-
tered, shifting stops. In
Unlocked
Mode, characters
CAN be shifted over Tab Starts and Ends.
Super Shift can be used with
SHIFT CHAR
to make text
moves in larger increments (§7.8.6).
