SRS Components
SRS airbag consists of the following
components and their positions are
shown in the figure below:
1. Front Impact sensor
2. Airbag electronic control unit (ECU)
3. SRS warning light
4. Clock spring
5. Driver’s airbag module (Optional)
6. Side Impact sensor (Optional)
7. Front seat side airbag module
(Optional)
8. Curtain airbag module (Optional)
9. Front passenger airbag assembly
(Optional)
10. Safety belt warning sensor
(optional)
Driver and Front passenger airbags
Your vehicle has a supplemental
restraint system (SRS) with front
airbags to help protect the heads and
chests of the driver and a front seat
passenger during a moderate or
severe frontal collision.
If you ever have a moderate to severe
frontal collision, sensors will detect
the vehicle’s rapid deceleration.The
control unit will instantly inflate the
driver’s and front passenger’s airbags,
at the same time activate automatic
seat belts tensioner.
During a frontal crash, your seat belt
restrains your lower body and trunk,
and the front airbag helps protect your
head and chest as an air cushion. The
belt pretensions will tighten and lock
seat belts to maintain you fixed in the
position.
