MULTIPORT SPOOLER VIII (4-, 8-, and 12-Port Models)
C.1 Files on the Included Diskettes
The following software utilities for communication with the Multiport
Spooler VIII are provided on the included support-software diskettes:
CHKERR.EXE
Enables you to see the nature of a problem encountered in MPSDOS.
An error is encountered when you hear two or seven beeps from your PC.
Refer to
Section 8.5
for more information about this program.
COMX.SYS
Printing-interface program for the phantom ports COM5 through
COM9 used by MPSDOS and MPSWIN.
CONFDOS.EXE
Configuration program that allows you to change MPSDOS operating
parameters. Refer to
Chapter 5
for information about this program.
DELAY.COM
Generates a delay on the PC. This delay is programmable from 1 to 999
seconds. When a series of control commands are specified in a batch file
(.BAT), the DELAY command can be specified after each command, so that
a pause in command transmission lets the Multiport Spooler VIII timeout
expire.
For example, the DELAY 25 command sets up a 25-second timeout.
EDITOR.EXE
The EDITOR program allows you to change the commands in the default
UCTP command file. If the resident UCTP is already loaded in memory when
such changes are made, the computer must be rebooted to put the modified
command file into effect. See
Appendix E
.
INSTWIN.EXE
Installs the software package on your hard disk under Windows.
