7.2.3 P
RINTING A
D
OCUMENT
To print a document, simply use the print command of your Windows or DOS
application program as usual. If you have redirected ports to obtain a wider
selection of peripherals, you can select any of the peripherals listed. The
redirection command, or any heading you may have defined, is sent to the
Multiport Spooler VIII before the print request. The command and the print
job are sent to the MPS-VIII through the computer port linked to the MPS-
VIII, and then redirected to the selected port.
Suppose that LPT1 is the PC port linked to the Multiport Spooler VIII and
that you have used MPSDOS or MPSWIN to redirect port COM3 to MPS-VIII
port #12. When you print to COM3, the print request is sent out through
LPT1, preceded by the command redirecting it to Multiport Spooler VIII
port #12.
