At this point a screen appears asking you whether you want the messages
returned from the Multiport Spooler VIII to be checked. If you opt for this,
then any time any errors are detected or a message is not received, your PC
will beep two or seven times. To determine the nature of the problem, use the
CHKERR program (refer to
Section 8.5
).
NOTE
To use this feature, you must also activate the MPS-VIII’s Return
Message configuration parameter (see
Section 4.7.2
).

At this point a screen appears asking you whether you want to print a hard
copy of the MPSDOS configuration, including the port redirection, character
strings, etc. This can be useful for reference sake.
If you choose to print the configuration, a “Print Port Parameters” screen
appears. At this screen, you can select the printer port that will be used to
print the MPSDOS configuration. This is the same screen as the PC Port
Parameters screen (refer to
Section 5.3.2
). If you select a serial port, set the
communication parameters as necessary. Make sure that the selected port is
connected to a printer.

This screen displays all the choices you’ve made during installation and
prompts you to confirm or abandon installation. To complete installation
with the shown parameters, tab to the Continue field and press Enter.
Alternatively, you can go to the previous screen or quit installation.
If you’re installing UCTP, the RESUCTP.BAT or NRESUCTP.BAT file,
which contains the information specified during installation, is now created.
RESUCTP.BAT loads the UCTP as a resident program; NRESUCTP.BAT
loads the UCTP as a non-resident program.
After installation is confirmed, you are asked whether you want to return
to DOS or restart the computer. To activate the installed software, you must
restart the computer.
