NSTALLATION

ROCEDURE
Follow these steps, instead of those in
Section 6.2
of your manual, to install
the Windows 95 software:
1. With the Spooler’s Windows 95 diskette in one of your PC’s diskette
drives, select
Run
from Windows 95’s
Start
-button menu. Select
Browse
at the
Run
screen, then select the diskette drive and the
Setupwin95
program. (The SETUPW95 screens will display the name “MPS-VIII 95
Installation & Configuration.”)
Use the same keys with Setupwin95 as you would with Windows to edit,
switch between options, etc. (This program also supports the mouse.)
Here are some of the other keys you can use to control the installation
process within Setupwin95:
Tab
To go to the next option
Shift-Tab
To go back to the previous option
Alt-
To select the option with an underlined letter (
)
Enter
To accept all entries and go to the next screen
Up-Arrow
To move up in the option list
Down-Arrow
To move down in the option list
You can also use the icons in the lower right-hand corner of the
installation screens to go one screen back or quit the installation
program. The screens that appear are more or less the same as those
described in detail in
Section 6.3
of your manual.
2. At the initial screen that appears, tell Setupwin95 which diskette drive
contains the MPSWIN95 diskette, as well as which type of MPS-VIII
model is connected to the PC.
3. Tell Setupwin95 which PC port is connected to the MPS-VIII. If the PC
port is a serial port, set parameters for that PC port.
4. Set port redirection and enter any desired character strings.
5. Choose whether or not the UCTP will load automatically when Windows
95 starts up.
