Preventive Maintenance Schedule
The minimum recommended service checks and intervals for your asphalt
distributor are as follows:
Daily
1. Check hydraulic oil level (ISO 46).
2. Check filter vacuum gauge after initial warm up.
3. Check gland packing for leaks:
a. Cargo Pump (if applicable).
b. Equalizer Valve.
c. Spread/Circulate Valve.
d. Tank Gauge.
4. Inspect the spray bar for leaks at the nozzles, valve stems and
swing joints.
5. Check hydraulic cylinders for seal leaks.
6. Check for air leaks.
7. Drain the air tanks.
8. Inspect for correct operation of wing limit switches.
9. Test the burner safety switch. Burner should not work if brakes
are not set.
10. Clean the bar and suction screens (or as needed).
11. Clean the spray bar with an approved cleaning agent at the end of
the day.
12. As needed during the day, spray the shafts of the hydraulic
cylinders and the air cylinders with PAM (or equivalent) to prevent
asphalt from building up.
13. When the computer is turned on, verify that the calibration
numbers are correct.
14. Make certain that the bar and wing latches are in good condition
for travelling.
15. Make sure taillights and markers are clean, unobstructed and in
working order.
