Replacing the Expansion Chassis Cover
The 3D Effects boards are supplied in a new cover that fits on top of the Avid
Expansion Chassis. The sections below describe how to replace the existing
Expansion Chassis cover with the new 3D Effects cover.

Make sure that your Expansion Chassis is Rev. E or later if you are installing the 3D
Effects cover. Earlier revisions of the Expansion Chassis do not have the necessary screw
holes along the rear cover flange or the correct power connectors to support the 3D Effects
cover. You can find the chassis revision level on a manufacturing sticker located inside
the chassis.
Removing the Expansion Chassis Cover
To remove the Expansion Chassis cover:
1. Remove the two screws at the top front of the chassis using a flat-blade
screwdriver (see Figure 35).
2. Lift the front of the cover slightly and slide it forward off the chassis.
