Reconnecting the Audio Cables

Reconnect the audio cable to the SA 4 audio card (see Figure 30 on page 40). This 
is a 68-pin high-density D connector. You’ll hear the latches click into place when 
you secure the connector. For more detailed information on connecting audio 
cables, see the Installing Audio/Video Products manual in your Avid Hardware 
binder.

Be careful not to bend any of the pins in the cable connector as you make the 
connection. 

Reconnecting the Video Cables

Reconnect the video cables to the card (see Figure 30 on page 40). On 
the card the input connector is on top and the output connector is on 
the bottom. Tighten the thumb screws to secure the connectors. For more detailed 
information on connecting video cables, see the Installing Monitors and Installing 
Audio/Video Products manuals in your Avid Hardware binder.

Testing the Populated Expansion Chassis

After you install the Expansion Chassis and the NuBus cards, and connect all the 
cables, you need to test the chassis. Testing verifies that you have connected the 
Macintosh and the chassis correctly, and that the NuBus cards are installed 
correctly and visible to the Macintosh. To test a populated Expansion Chassis:

1. Power on all the peripheral devices.

2. Power on the Expansion Chassis.

3. Power on the Macintosh.

The Macintosh may not boot if any of the NuBus cards are not seated 
properly. For information on solving this problem, see “Populated Chassis 
Problems” on page 74.
