Changing the Effects Module
You must replace the effects module on the JPEG card for the 3D Effects to work
correctly. To replace the effects module:
1. Remove the JPEG card from the Expansion Chassis. Lay the card on a flat
antistatic surface. Make sure that the effects module (the small attached board)
is facing up.
2. Disconnect the effects module from the two white plastic standoffs at the
bottom of the JPEG card.
3. Disconnect the effects module from the two data connectors at the top of the
JPEG card. Set the effects module aside.
✍
Note that the connectors on the effects module fit tightly into the connectors on the
JPEG card. Be careful that you do not damage the cards or the connectors when you
separate them.
4. Get the new effects module provided in the 3D Effects kit. Remove it from the
antistatic bag.
5. Connect the two data connectors at the top of the JPEG card to the data
connectors on the new effects module.
6. Connect the new effects module to the two standoffs at the bottom of the JPEG
card.
7. Replace the JPEG card in the chassis.
8. Attach the gray ribbon cable from the I/O board in the 3D Effects cover to the
connector on the side of the new effects module.
