Connecting the AC Power Cord
To connect the AC power cord:
1. Connect the power cord to the AC power input on the rear panel of the
Expansion Chassis (see Figure 27).
2. Plug the expansion Chassis into the same power strip as the Macintosh.

Testing the Empty Expansion Chassis
Before installing any of the Avid NuBus cards, test the Expansion Chassis. To test
the chassis:
1. Turn on the power to the Expansion Chassis.
2. Power on the Macintosh.

If the Macintosh does not boot or hangs while booting, the switch settings for
the NuBus slots may be incorrect. Power down the Macintosh and the
Expansion Chassis, disconnect the chassis from the Macintosh, then power
on the Macintosh. Run Expansion View, in the Utilities folder, to check the
switch settings and make any corrections. Also, check the connector on the
interface card for bent pins that may prevent the cable from seating properly.
When you’re sure that the switch settings are correct, power down the
Macintosh, reconnect the Expansion Chassis, and power on the chassis and
Macintosh again.
3. Open the Avid drive by double-clicking the drive icon.
4. Locate the Utilities folder and open it by double-clicking the folder icon.
