6. Push the lock flat against the cable connector and slide the bent end of the lock
into the left end of the cutout (see Figure 6). Slide the cable lock as far as
possible to the left.

If the lock does not slide into place, the cable connector is not seated completely in the
connector on the interface card. Remove the cable from the interface card and repeat
steps 1 to 3 to make sure that you have the cable completely seated. Then try to
install the cable lock the cable lock again.
Connecting the External Cables
All Power Macintosh systems have the Avid NuBus boards installed in the
Expansion Chassis rather than being installed in the Macintosh. Throughout the
hardware manuals, whenever you are instructed to connect a cable to a board in the
Macintosh, you should now connect to that same board in the chassis.
Note that your system may not have all of the NuBus cards shown Figure 7.
