Chapter 6

Chassis Troubleshooting

You may experience problems during the installation and operation of your 
Macintosh and Expansion Chassis. This chapter describes how to solve basic 
problems with:

•

The interface card

•

An empty Expansion Chassis

•

A populated Expansion Chassis

•

An Expansion Chassis with the 3D Effects Option

Avid provides two utilities, Expansion View and Slot Looker, to help you solve 
basic connection and operation problems. These utilities are in the Utilities folder 
on the Avid drive. In some cases, Slot Looker may be more helpful than Expansion 
View. Slot Looker, however, reports more technical information than Expansion 
View.
