1.3 Guidelines for Normal Use
•
If a computer is connected, never disconnect the USB cable before turning off the power switch.
•
For more consistent marking, allow the unit to warm up for about 10 to 30 minutes after turning on the
LD. The warmup time varies depending on the temperature and workpiece material.
•
Use only memory cards purchased from us. If commercial cards are used, the unit may not function
normally.
•
Before inserting or removing memory cards, always turn off the power switch. If the power switch is
on when cards are inserted or removed, data may be lost or the memory card may become unusable.
•
Back up memory card data regularly.
If the memory card data becomes corrupted, it may prevent normal marking or the marker may not
start.
•
The memory card connector can withstand 10,000 insertion/removal cycles, according to values
published by the connector manufacturer.
•
When a supervisor or operator enters the area where the laser is used, protective measures not to
exceed the MPE* level must be taken.
* MPE: The maximum level of permissible exposure of the eyes or skin to laser beams. Abbreviation
of Maximum Permissible Exposure.
•
Since the surge absorber is built in, do not perform the insulation resistance test and the withstand
voltage test. If the surge absorber fails, the marker may become unusable.
•
The ML-73
□
3EL head unit has IP64 dust- and splash-proof performance. The performance can be
provided only by installing the control cable, fθ lens
(f420, f508, f100 (telecentric), and f163
(telecentric) are not compatible) and protective glass properly.
•
The water and oil proof head unit (option) has IP67 dust- and water-proof performance and IPXXG (in
the JIS standard) oil-proof performance. The performance can be provided only by installing the
control cable, fθ lens and protective glass properly. The head has a protective structure, but it cannot
be used in water or oil.
•
Capable of corresponding to the fully closed locker to enhance the environment resistance of the
control unit. (This is not compatible with IP67G.) For details, contact us.
For other information on managing laser equipment or the MPE level, refer to the
following standards.
