10.Install the three parts of the drive rod (2 & 3). Install them between the left-hand and right-hand motor
unit (1 & 4) with the screws and nuts (included in the supplied package). (See Fig. 4 & 4B). The nuts
should be tightened so they are “hand-tight” at this stage. Ensure that both drives are in their initial
position.
11.Ensure that the main connecting rod (10) and drive rod (3) are aligned in the centre. The middle of the
rod is clearly marked.
12.Move the entire manoeuvring tool over the chassis so that the drive rollers are 20 mm away from the
running surface on both sides (Fig. 5). Please use the 20 mm spacer (33) for this (included in the sup-
plied package).
CAUTION!
The entire unit must be installed parallel with the caravan’s axle!
CAUTION!
Switch the motor units on so that the aluminium rollers have as much coverage as possible of
the tyres’ running surfaces.
An adequate distance (> 10 mm) must also be maintained between the surface of the manoeu-
vring tool and the shock absorbers (if fitted) and between the plastic gear protector and the
caravan’s tyres (> 10 mm, see Fig. 7)!
13.Now tighten the screws (Fig 3A) on the main connecting rod (10) and drive rod (2 & 3), (Fig. 3C) and
secure them with the locking nuts.
14.Now tighten all screws and nuts in the installation set (Fig. 4). First the 2 screws M10 x 60 positioned
at an angle (20 Nm) and then the other 4 screws (40 Nm) cross-wise.
15.Check the distance (20 mm) again between the drive rollers and the running surface of the tyres, the
position of the aluminium rollers against the running surface of the tyres and the distance between the
gear protector (Fig. 7), shock absorber and the tyres (> 10 mm). The weight of the caravan must rest
on the wheels. If necessary, loosen the nuts in the installation set and reset the distance.
CAUTION!
Recheck that all screws and nuts have been tightened to the correct torque!
The mechanical components are now installed.
Electrical installation
CAUTION!
Check that the 12 V power supply to the battery and any 230 V electrical supply has been discon-
nected!
If the caravan has a battery, remove both terminal clamps before starting to install the electronic
components!
1. Find a suitable location for the electronic control unit (9), for example under a bench or in the bed
frame. Ensure that this location is close to the battery (but no nearer than 60 cm) and that the loca-
tion is dry. The control unit can be installed vertically on a side wall or lying flat. In the case of verti-
cal installation, the connections must point downwards in order to avoid any short-circuits caused by
objects falling into the unit.
2. Secure the control unit with two screws M5 x 40 (32) firmly in position.
ADVICE
If the supplied screws are not long enough or are not suitable for the required fastening type,
please replace them accordingly!
