Feeder Pick Motion
Board Carrier Feeder – Board Level
Function:
Allows component to be positioned in the nozzle in reference to a board carrier feeder.
Action:
A message is presented to the operator to load the feeder tray (optional) (operator load feeder
tray). The vision system moves the feeder under the nozzle. The nozzle moves above the feeder tool
(approach height). The nozzle vacuum is applied and moves to the component in the feeder (pick veloc-
ity). When component is sensed by the nozzle vacuum (use vacuum sensor stop) the nozzle pauses
(depart delay) and moves up (depart height, depart velocity). Optional object detection may be applied.
Task Properties:
Feeder Tool Height (mm):
Sets the height of the feeder tool based on the board carrier z-height po-
sition. Note: The feeder pick motion is based on the nozzle height, component thickness and feeder tool
thickness. Incorrect information can result in damage to the machine and/or component.
Approach Height (mm):
Sets the initial distance of the nozzle relative to the feeder tool with the com-
ponent in place.
Use Vacuum Sensor Stop:
Activates use of nozzle vacuum sensor. The nozzle vacuum is turned
on and stops when the component seals against the nozzle o-ring/vacuum cup (based on minimum in-
ternally set vacuum force being reached).
Pick Velocity (%):
Speed the nozzle goes from the approach height to the component.
Safety Target (gram):
Sets force of nozzle against component to be reached prior to nozzle vacuum
being activated. Used as back up system for vacuum sensor stop removal process.
Depart Height (mm):
The distance the nozzle/component moves from the feeder tool after the com-
ponent is sensed with the vacuum sensor stop or based on the nozzle touching the component on the
feeder tool when use vacuum sensor stop is not activated.
Depart Delay (sec):
Time prior to the nozzle motion to the depart height after the vacuum is activated.
Depart Velocity (%):
Speed the nozzle/component moves away from the feeder tool to depart height.
