4601 I-V Meter Operation Manual
5.2.6 Settling Time
5-17
Example 1)
Voltage source range: 5 V, current limit range: 3 A, current limit value: 100 mA, response:
Ext.fast
As the current limit count value D is 100,
Vs max=0.024
100=2.4[V].
Settling time until the source voltage enters within an error of 10% when changing by 1 V:
Ts = 1/1.1 + 2.3
5.5 = 13.6 [
s]
Example 2)
Voltage source range: 300 V, current limit range: 300 mA, current limit value: 100 mA,
response: slow
As the response is slow, there is no condition on
Vs max.
Settling time until the source voltage enters within an error of 0.1% when changing by 5 V:
Ts = 5/0.1 + 6.9
65 = 499 [
s]
NOTE:
• To shorten the settling time, set the current limit to 1000 counts or more and the minimum source
voltage change
Vs.
• Set the response to medium or slow in the current limit 300
A range.
• Set the measurement delay time Td longer than the above settling time Ts.
Td
Ts
Set the period time Tp from the measurement delay time Td, the integration time Tit and the AD
processing time Tk as follows: (Refer to Section 5.2.5, "Source and Measurement Timings.")
Tp
Td + Tit + Tk
