130   Maintenance

Control units

BCU control unit types

ACS880-07XT uses BCU-02 control unit. There are three variants of the BCU control unit 
used in ACS880 drives: BCU-02, BCU-12 and BCU-22. These have a different number of 
converter module connections (2, 7 and 12 respectively) but are otherwise identical. The 
three BCU types are interchangeable as long as the number of connections is sufficient. 
For example, the BCU-22 can be used as a direct replacement for both BCU-02 and BCU-
12.

Memory unit

After replacing a supply or inverter control unit, the existing parameter settings can be 
retained by transferring the memory unit from the defective control unit to the new control 
unit.

 Do not remove or insert the memory unit when the control unit is 

powered.

Precautions before electrical work

2. Make sure that the control unit is not powered.

3. Undo the fastening screw and pull the memory unit out.
