Start-up

Contents of this chapter

This chapter contains the start-up procedure of the drive.

Start-up procedure

The tasks which are needed in certain cases only are marked with underlining, and option 
codes are given in brackets. Default device designations (if any) are given in brackets after 
the name, for example “main switch-disconnector [Q1]”. The same device designations 
are also used in the circuit diagrams, typically.

These instructions cannot and do not cover all possible start-up tasks of a customized 
drive. Always refer to the delivery-specific circuit diagrams when proceeding with the start-
up.

 Only qualified electricians are allowed to do the work described in this 

chapter.

Note:

 For certain functional safety options (such as +Q951, +Q952, +Q963 and +Q964), 

the start-up instructions are given in their separate manuals rather than in this chapter.
