Error Detection
Internal and external errors are detected and diagnosed in the F I/O module by
continuous self-testing. The F I/O module also generates warnings that warn of
potential errors. An overview of all detectable and diagnosed errors and warnings
are listed in the “Diagnostic Messages” table. The following information is
described in the specified sections:
•
The behavior of the F I/O module in case of error depends on the type of
error, see Section “Behavior in Case of Error”.
•
Diagnostics are assigned to the individual errors;
see Section “Error
Diagnostics”.
•
Acknowledging errors, see Section “Acknowledging Errors”.
Error detection, behavior in case of error, error diagnostics and error
acknowledgment are defined by the configuration used (PROFIsafe Mode V2.4
or PROFIsafe Mode V2.6) and the iParameters. Dependencies can be found in
the corresponding subsection in Section “Functions”.
Internal and external errors evoked by strong EMC events!
Both internal and external errors can be evoked by strong EMC events. This can
cause the F I/O module to shut down in a safety-related manner. The user
cannot acknowledge a safety-related shutdown.
To check whether the cause of a safety-related shutdown was a temporary EMC
event, switching the entire fieldbus node off and then on again can be performed
in an attempt to activate the F I/O module again.
If the safety-related shutdown occurs several times, the F I/O module must be
replaced. In such case, return the defective F I/O module to WAGO
Kontakttechnik GmbH & Co. KG for fault analysis.
