Acknowledging Errors
When detecting an error, a message is sent by the F I/O module to the safe PLC.
More information about error detection by the F I/O module is available in Section
“Diagnostics” > … > “Error Response” and in Section “Diagnostics” > … > “Error
Diagnostics”. In the F I/O module, passivation of the affected channel or module
is automatic in the event of error detection and message.
To reset the passivation, acknowledgment is required. Acknowledgment can be
configured to module-internal or module-external.
Not all errors can be acknowledged module internal!
Information about which errors can be acknowledged module-internal and/or
module-
external is available in Section “Diagnostics” > … > “Errors and Error
Types”.
•
Module-internal acknowledgement
: Acknowledgement by the user is not
required. Depassivation of the module is automatic after the error has been
corrected.
•
Module-external acknowledgement
: Depassivation is not automatic.
Acknowledgement by the user or safety application is required.
