Module- or Channel-Granular Passivation in
PROFIsafe Mode V2.4

The F I/O module is set at the factory so that all input channels are passivated at
the same time in the event of an error. However, it can be configured in such a
way that channel-granular passivation is possible in case of a channel error.

•

Channel-granular passivation

: With this setting, only the affected input

channels are passivated in case of error and all other analog input
channels continue to be used.

•

Module-granular passivation

: With this setting, all input channels are

passivated in case of error.

The settings are made via the “

Passivation Mode

” parameter, which is

described in Section “Commissioning” > … > “Setting Parameters”.

Passivation mode in PROFIsafe Mode V2.4 only!

The parameter is only evaluated if PROFIsafe Mode V2.4 (F_CRC_Seed = 0 and
F_Passivation = 0) is set!

In PROFIsafe Mode V2.6 (F_CRC_Seed = 1 and F_Passivation = 1), this
parameter is ignored and passivated channel granular per RIOforFA.
