Clean and inspect the mating surfaces for both
the thermostat and the thermostat housing cover.

Install the new thermostat and a new gasket.

Install the thermostat housing cover and the bolts.

Install the upper belt guard: Refer to 

Belt Protec-

tor page 296

IMPORTANT!

Ensure that engine wiring is not pinched.

Refill with new coolant; refer to 

Coolant Level,

Checking and Topping Up page 280

.

10  Start the engine and check for leaks. Pressurize

the cooling system; refer to
