/: Deactivation takes place when the oil pressure in

the rocker arm shaft drops to around 1 bar. The piston

) opens the check valve (

) so that oil can flow back

to the rocker arm shaft.

The pump piston spring then forces the pump piston

) back to its lower position and the EGR rocker arm

) can no longer contact the pump piston.
