Maintaining the Inlet System
This section describes the maintenance procedures for the inlet system.
Before maintaining any parts of the inlet system, make sure that the
instrument is in standby position.
Maintaining the Nebulizer
Depending on the operation conditions, the nebulizer becomes blocked.
A blockage is typically caused by particulate matter that is present in
either the supply gas or the sample. Solids might deposit in the nozzle,
thus restricting the nebulizer and causing a loss in performance.
❖
To prevent nebulizer blockage
1. Rinse the nebulizer.
2. Allow the nebulizer to dry before turning off the gas supply.
3. Make sure that the sample uptake is disconnected or arranged so
that it prevents siphoning into the nebulizer when the gas is
switched off.
Removing the Nebulizer
❖
To remove the nebulizer
1. Pull off the tubing.
2. Carefully turn the nebulizer counterclockwise.
3. Pull out the nebulizer.
