Installing the USB Cable Retainer on the Lightspeed Live
Server
The USB Cable Retainer will hold the USB cable firmly into the USB port on the back of
the Lightspeed Live server, to prevent accidental removal.
The USB Cable Retainer is installed on the back of the Lightspeed Live server, and
sufficient space is needed above the server to operate a screwdriver to replace one of
the screws in the cover. This is best accomplished
before installing the server in the rack,
but can be performed when the server is in the rack if sufficient space is available above
the server.
These tools are recommended to install the Cable Retainer, and RS-422 Interface Kit:
•
1/4” nut driver
•
Phillips screw driver
To install the USB Cable Retainer:
1. Remove the screw in the center of the
top cover on the back of the
Lightspeed Live server.
2. Install the Phillips flat-head 6-32 x 3/4”
screw in place of the removed screw,
and tighten to secure the cover.
3. Slide the Cable Retainer onto
the newly installed screw, and
secure it with the lock-washer
and 6-32 1/4” nut. Tighten
firmly using a 1/4” nut driver.
4. Install the Lightspeed Live
server into the rack, if not
already installed.
