IN lINE FUEl FIlTER
Inspect In-Line fuel filter every 250 hours. Replace filter every 500 hours.
Inspect In-Line Fuel Filter
Remove floor panel to inspect In-Line Fuel Filter. Replace if water or dirt sediment is
found.
Replace
1. Remove floor panel.
2. Loosen hose clamps, disconnect filter from fuel lines.
3. Install new filter with arrow pointing toward the fuel pump.
4. Retighten hose clamps.
If the fuel system needs bleeding of air, see Bleeding Air From Fuel System in Mainte-
nance section of this manual.
ENGINE FUEl FIlTER
Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious in-
jury. Relieve pressure before disconnecting fuel or other lines. Tight-
en all connections before applying pressure. Keep hands and body away
from pinholes and nozzles that eject fluids under high pressure. Use a
piece of cardboard or paper to search for leaks. Do not use your hand.
If any fluid is injected into the skin, a doctor familiar with this type injury
must surgically remove it within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doc-
tors unfamiliar with this type of injury may call the Deere & Company Medi-
cal Department in Moline, Illinois, or other knowledgeable medical source.
Clean fuel filter every 250 hours, replace every 500 hours.
Clean engine fuel filter
1. Close the fuel cock.
2. Unscrew the retaining ring and remove the cup, and rinse the inside with kero-
sene.
3. Take out the element and dip it in the kerosene to rinse.
4. After cleaning, reassemble the fuel filter, keeping out dust and dirt.
5. Bleed the fuel system.
Replace engine fuel filter
1. Close the fuel cock
2. Unscrew the retaining ring and remove the cup, and rinse the inside with kero-
sene.
3. Replace the filter element.
4. Reassemble the fuel filter, keeping out dust and dirt.
5. Bleed the fuel system. See Bleeding Air From Fuel System in Maintenance sec-
tion of this manual.
