Main Flex Film Installation
If the main flex film is being replaced, a new part should be used in the place of the old part when
performed the following steps.
Tools needed to perform the following steps:

Pry tool

Style 2A ESD tweezers
NOTE! A “ * ” beside a tool listed above indicates that the tool is not specifically called out in the
following instructions, but an operator may find it helpful to use that tool when performing some
steps of the following procedure.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1.
If a
new
main flex film is being installed:
a.
Install a Teflon pad on the main flex in the
location shown.
b.
Fold the main flex film’s extension that contains
the vibrator contact pads back onto the main flex
film so that the vibrator contact pads are
accessible and the features of the extension are
aligned with the corresponding features of the
main flex film.
c.
Once the main flex film’s extension that contains
the vibrator contact pads is correctly positioned,
lightly crease the fold where the flex film
extension bends back onto the main flex film.
NOTE! To prevent damage to the flex film, do
NOT
over crease the fold in the flex
film.
d.
Remove the protective covering from the
adhesive film located on the back of the flex film
extension containing the vibrator contact pads.
