Outer Flip Cover Installation
If this part is being replaced, a new part should be used in the place of the old part when
reassembling. If a new part is being used, perform steps of the outer flip cover replacement
procedure before performing the following instructions.
Tools needed to perform the following steps:
•
Torque screwdriver
•
T6 Torx® bit
•
Style 2A ESD tweezers
•
Lint-free wipes
Step-by-Step Instructions
NOTE! If a new outer flip cover is being installed,
start at step 7. If an outer flip cover is
being reused, start at step 1.
1.
Orient the outer flip cover so that its external side is
towards you.
2.
From the external side of the outer flip cover, press
the camera ring out of its opening in the outer flip
cover and remove it from the outer flip cover.
3.
If the old camera ring is being reused, remove any
camera ring adhesive that remains on the outer lip
of the camera ring.
NOTE! Make sure that all adhesive residue is
removed. Carefully clean off any residue
with style 2A tweezers, alcohol, and a lint-
free wipe.
4.
Orient the outer flip cover so that its inner surface is
towards you.
5.
Remove the old camera ring adhesive.
NOTE! Make sure that all adhesive residue is
removed. Carefully clean off any residue
with style 2A tweezers, alcohol, and a lint-
free wipe.
6.
Install a new camera ring adhesive as shown.
