Connecting the MD3 with a TIM and TAE6 outlet
The following figure shows a summary of how the MD3 modem in dial-up mode is connected
to a TIM (via RS-2329) and to a telephone socket (TAE6N socket) using the specified
standard connecting cables. A telephone can also be connected to the same telephone
socket parallel to the modem (via the TAE6F socket).

Note
Any TIM with an RS-232 interface can be used, in other words, the TIM 3V-IE variants, the
TIM 4R-IE and all TIM 4 types.
Parallel connection of MD3 and telephone to a TAE6 socket
The following figure shows how the MD3 modem and a telephone are connected at the
same time via the TAE6 socket. You can see the standard wiring of the TAE6 socket
provided by Telecom with a connector for a telephone (TAE6F) and a connector for a
modem or fax device (TAE6N).
