Settings Check
The following check assures zero-sequence current filtering is applied to all necessary transformer windings.
It is essential to use a non-zero Winding CT Connection Compensation (W
n
CTC) setting for all grounded-WYE
connected transformer windings with WYE connected CTs.
Verify that no grounded-WYE transformer windings with WYE connected CTs has setting W
n
CTC = 0. Use a
setting of 12 instead of 0 for proper zero-sequence current filtering.
Note the following commissioning checks will not detect the failure to properly filter zero-sequence current.
Failure to adhere to this check will result in a differential operation for external faults involving ground.
