Radwechsel
Bei einer Reifenpanne ist möglichst weit
rechts außerhalb der Fahrspur zu halten und
nötigenfalls die Warnblinkanlage einzuschal-
ten sowie in angemessener Entfernung ein
Warndreieck aufzustellen.
Zum Aufbocken des Wagens muß der Stand-
platz fest und eben sein. Die Handbremse
muß ganz angezogen und die Räder an der
gegenüberliegenden Seite unterlegt werden.
Bei Fahrzeugen mit Schaltgetriebe den 1. Gang,
bei Fahrzeugen mit Automatic-Getriebe die
Wählhebelstellung „P" einlegen.
Während des Anhebevorgangs darf sich nie-
mand im Fahrzeug befinden.
Arbeitsfolge beim Radwechsel:
1. Radmuttern des zu wechselnden Rades et-
was lösen.
2. Bord-Wagenheber vorn schräg nach aus-
sen an den vorgesehenen Stellen anset-
zen.
3. Fahrzeug so weit hochkurbeln, bis das zu
wechselnde Rad ganz vom Boden abhebt.
4. Radmuttern entfernen und das Rad aus-
tauschen. Beim Montieren des neuen Ra-
des darauf achten, daß der farbig markier-
te Radbolzen dem Ventil des Rades ge-

genüber liegt. Die abschließbare Radmut-
ter auf dem farbig markierten Radbolzen
montieren.
5. Bei der Montage die Radmuttern zunächst
nur leicht über Kreuz anziehen, damit sich
das Rad zentriert (Kugelbund der Mutter
muß in die Ansenkung der Radschüssel
tauchen). Auf Sauberkeit der Anlagefläche
achten!
6. Bei Faltradmontage den Schlauch des
Kompressors auf das Reifenventil auf-
schrauben, dann den Stecker in die Fas-
sung des Zigarettenanzünders einführen.
Nach wenigen Minuten ist der erforderliche
Reifendruck erreicht.
7. Wagen ablassen und Wagenheber abneh-
men. Radmuttern über Kreuz festziehen.
8. Den Reifendruck mit dem Druckprüfer kon-
trollieren und Kurztest für das Reifendruck-
kontroll system durchführen.
Nach einem Radwechsel muß umgehend
der vorschriftsmäßige Sitz der Radmuttern
mit einem Drehmomentschlüssel geprüft
werden (Anzugsdrehmoment 130 Nm bzw.
13 kpm).
Anheben des Fahrzeugs
mit dem Bord-Wagenheber
Nur an diesen Punkten darf der Wagenhe-
ber angesetzt werden.
Der Wagenheber muß exakt und formschlüs-
sig in die Aufnahme am Fahrzeugboden ein-
geführt werden.
Achtung: Der Wagenheber ist nur zum Anhe-
ben des Fahrzeuges bei Radwechsel vorge-
sehen. Bei Arbeiten unter dem Fahrzeug
müssen geeignete Untertellböcke verwendet
werden.
Changing a wheel
When a tyre is punctured, drive as far over to
the offside of the road as possible, and if
necessary turn the hazard warning lights on
and set up a warning triangle at the correct
distance behind the car.
The ground beneath the car should be firm
and level. The handbrake must be firmly ap-
plied, and the wheels on the other side of the
car should be blocked with a chock.
For vehicles with manual gearbox, engage 1st
gear; for vehicles with automatic gearbox, en-
gage selector "P". Nobody should be in the
vehicle while it is being jacked up.
Procedure for changing a wheel
1. Slacken nuts of wheel to be changed.
2. Position the car jack at the appropriate
jacking point, with the top of the jack tilted
slightly away from the bodywork.
3. Raise the car until the wheel to be
changed is clear of the ground.
4. Remove wheel nuts and change wheel.
When fitting the new wheel, make sure
that the coloured wheel bolt is opposite the
valve. Screw the lock-up wheel nut onto
this bolt.
5 Tighten wheel nuts slightly in diagonally op-
posite sequence so that the wheel is cen-
tred (the collars of the nuts must engage
the recesses in the wheel). Make sure the
contact surfaces are clean.
6. If the collapsible spare wheel has been
fitted, screw the compressor hose onto the
valve and then plug the compressor into
the cigarette-lighter socket. The tyre will in-
flate to the correct pressure within a few
minutes.
7. Let the car down from the jack and
remove jack. Tighten the wheel nuts.
8. Check the pressure with pressure gauge
and carry out the brief test of the tyre
pressure warning system.
After changing a wheel, the wheel nuttor-
que must be checked with a torque
wrench as soon as possible. (Tightening
torque 130 Nm, 94 tflb.)
Lifting the vehicle with its own
jack
The jack may only be used at these points.
It is essential that the jack is inserted accur-
ately and correctly into the jacking point on
the underside of the vehicle.
Warning: The jack is only provided to lift the
vehicle for changing tyres. If work is to be
carried out under the vehicle, the vehicle must
be supported on a suitable chassis stand or
similar.
