geschleppte Fahrzeug muß die Zündung ein-
geschaltet haben, damit die Brems- und Blin-
kleuchten funktionieren und das Lenkrad-
schloß nicht einrasten kann.
Zum Abschleppen von Fahrzeugen mit
Automatik beachten Sie bitte die Vorschrif-
ten in Kapitel „Automatik-Getriebe".
Denken Sie daran, daß bei stehendem Mo-
tor keine Servo-Unterstützung zur Verfü-
gung steht und deswegen mehr Kraft zum
Bremsen und Lenken aufgewendet werden
muß.
Abschleppen
Die Abschleppöse finden Sie in der Werk-
zeugplatte im Heck des Fahrzeuges.
Zum Abschleppen eines anderen Fahrzeugs
muß die Abschleppöse durch die Öffnung
oberhalb der hinteren Nummerntafel ganz in
die Stoßstange eingeschraubt werden.
Bei Fahrzeugen mit Anhängerkupplung kann
die Abschleppöse nicht in das Fahrzeugheck
eingeschraubt werden. Bei diesen Fahrzeugen
muß die Kugelstange der Anhängerkupplung
als Abschleppvorrichtung mitgeführt werden.
Falls Ihr Porsche einmal abgeschleppt werden
muß, wird die Abschleppöse vorne rechts ne-
ben dem Kühlergrill eingeschraubt. Hierzu
den Verschlußstopfen mit dem Innensechs-
kantschlüssel entfernen.
Beachten Sie immer die gesetzlichen Vor-
schriften, die das Schleppen und Abschlep-
pen regeln.
Wenn Sie ein anderes Fahrzeug abschlep-
pen, darf dieses nicht schwerer als Ihr Por-
sche sein.
Während der Fahrt muß das Seil immer straff
gespannt sein; vermeiden Sie aber unbedingt
Anschleppen
Wenn Ihr Porsche mit automatischem Getrie-
be ausgestattet ist, kann der Motor nicht
durch Anschleppen oder Anschieben gestartet
werden.
Bei defekter oder völlig entladener Batterie ist
das Starten des Motors nur nach Austausch
der Batterie oder durch Starthilfe möglich.

During towing, always keep the tow rope taut,
but avoid sudden jerks on the rope. The ve-
hicle being towed should have the ignition
turned on so that the brake and direction indi-
cator lights function, and that the steering lock
is released.
Remember, when the engine is not run-
ning, that no servo assistance is given,
and more power is required for braking
and steering.
For towing vehicles fitted with automatic
transmission please adhere to the regula-
tions to be found in the section "Automat-
ic Transmission".
Towing
The towing eye is located in the tool tray in
the rear of your Porsche.
To tow another vehicle, the towing eye must
be screwed into the hole in the rear bumper
above the rear number plate. Always screw
the towing eye right in.
If your Porsche is fitted with a towbar, it is not
possible to screw the towing eye into the rear
bumper. With these vehicles, the ball bar of
the towbar must be stowed in the car ready to
be used for towing.
Should it be necessary for your Porsche to be
towed, the towing eye must be screwed into
the right hole beside the cooling radiator, at
the front of the car. Remove the cap with the
aid of the offset hex screwdriver.
Always take into account the necessary laws
governing towing.
When you tow another vehicle, it must not be
heavier than your Porsche.
Tow or push starting
If your Porsche is fitted with an automatic
gearbox, it cannot be tow or push started.
If the battery is defective or completely flat,
the engine can only be started by replacing
the battery or using jump cables.
