Programming signals from other
remote controls
If the p r eset code fo r you r component is not available, o r
the available p r eset codes do not ope r ate co rr ectly, you
can p r og r am signals f r om the r emote cont r ol of anothe r
component. This can also be used to p r og r am additional
ope r ations (buttons not cove r ed in the p r esets) afte r
assigning a p r eset code.

1 While pressing MULTI OPERATION, press HOME
MENU.
The r emote display shows
SETUP MENU

2 Use
/
to select ‘CODE LEARNING’, then press
ENTER.
The r emote display p r ompts you fo r the component you
want to cont r ol (fo r example DVD o r TV ).
3 Press the input function button for the component
you want to control, then press ENTER.
PRESS KEY blinks in the r emote display.

4 Point the two remote controls towards each other,
then press the button that will be doing the learning on
this receiver’s remote control.
PRESS KEY
lights continuously to indicate the r emote is
r eady to accept a signal.
• The r emote cont r ols should be 3 cm apa r t.
5 Press the corresponding button on the other
remote control that is sending (teaching) the signal to
this receiver’s remote control.
Fo r example, if you want to lea r n the playback cont r ol
signal, p r ess and hold

b r iefly. The r emote display will
shows OK if the ope r ation has been lea r ned.

If fo r some r easons the ope r ation hasn’t been lea r ned the
r emote display will shows
ERROR
b r iefly, and then

PRESS KEY
again. If this happens, keep p r essing
the (teaching) button as you va r y the distance between
the two r emotes, until the r emote display shows OK .

Ce r tain buttons r ep r esent ope r ations that cannot be
lea r ned f r om othe r r emote cont r ols. The buttons
available a r e shown below:
6 To program additional signals for the current
component repeat steps 4 and 5.
To p r og r am signals fo r anothe r component, exit and
r epeat steps 1 th r ough 5.
7 Press and hold MULTI OPERATION for a couple of
seconds to exit and store the operation(s).
Erasing one of the remote control
button settings
This e r ases one of the buttons you have p r og r ammed and
r esto r es the button to the facto r y default.
1 While pressing MULTI OPERATION, press HOME
MENU.
The r emote display shows SETUP MENU .
2 Use
/
to select ‘ERASE LEARNING’, then press
ENTER.
The r emote display p r ompts you fo r the component
co rr esponding to the button setting to be e r ased.

1 The r emote can sto r e about 200 p r eset codes (this has been tested with codes of Pionee r fo r mat only).
2 • You can’t assign TUNER , HMG NET RADIO , ADAPTER and iPod USB .

fa r the r apa r t.
• If the r emote display shows
MEMORY FULL
, it means the memo r y is full. See

to e r ase a p r og r ammed button you’ r e not using to f r ee up mo r e memo r y (note that some signals may take mo r e memo r y than othe r s).
• Depending on the type of command that has been lea r ned, ope r ation may not be possible with RF two-way communications. In this case,
ope r ate using IR signal t r ansmission. Fo r inst r uctions on switching between the IR and RF modes, see
