Afte r the Acoustic Calib r ation Equalization is set, you a r e
given the option to check the settings on-sc r een.
Precision Distance (SC-LX83 only)
Befo r e using this function, pe r fo r m the Full Auto MCACC
Setup p r ocedu r e (see page 43). Pe r fo r ming the Full Auto
MCACC p r ocedu r e co rr ects the distance to a p r ecision of
1 cm, but the P r ecision Distance function lets you adjust
the distance to the speake r s (thei r position) with a
p r ecision of unde r 1 cm. He r e, r athe r than co rr ect the
nume r ical value of the distance, actually move the
physical positions of the speake r s to fine-adjust (the
subwoofe r cannot be adjusted). The input f r om the
mic r ophone is indicated on the sc r een. Fine-adjust the
positions of the speake r s so that the gauge r eading is
maximum. The detailed distance adjustments that we r e
p r eviously pe r fo r med by skilled installe r s by ea r can
easily be pe r fo r med watching the gauge on the monito r .
Place the mic r ophone in the same position as when the
mic r ophone was connected and the Full Auto MCACC
ope r ation was pe r fo r med.
1 Select ‘Precision Distance’ from the Manual
MCACC setup menu.
2 Fine-adjust the positions of the speakers in
sequence, starting from the front right channel.

Test pulses a r e output f r om the speake r fo r the selected
channel and f r om one othe r speake r . Move the position
of the selected speake r 1 cm towa r ds o r away f r om the
mic r ophone. Watch the sc r een when doing so, and fine-
adjust the positions of the speake r s so that the gauge
r eading is maximum. Also, the channel se r ving as the
standa r d diffe r s acco r ding to the channel being
adjusted. Do not move the speake r se r ving as the
standa r d channel.
The maximum gauge r eading is 10.0. (If the r eading stays
unde r 10.0, adjust the speake r fo r the maximum value.)
3 When you’re finished, press RETURN.
You will r etu r n to the Manual MCACC setup menu.

you can check you r calib r ated settings using the GUI
sc r een. The data can be t r ansfe rr ed to a compute r using
a USB device to check it on the compute r ’s sc r een as
well.
1 Set the remote control to the receiver operation
mode, then press HOME MENU.

1 • If the mic r ophone is placed in a diffe r ent position f r om when the Full Auto MCACC o r Auto MCACC p r ocedu r e was pe r fo r med, it may not be
possible to adjust p r ope r ly. In this case, we r ecommend pe r fo r ming the p r ocedu r e at
Fine Speaker Distance
on page 102 in the Auto MCACC
custom measu r ements, then pe r fo r ming the adjustment desc r ibed he r e without moving the mic r ophone.
• The adjustment he r e is fo r adjusting fo r an e rr o r of 1 cm o r less (not adjustable with the Auto MCACC Setup). 0.0 may be displayed afte r
distance co rr ection with the Auto MCACC Setup, but even in this case this adjustment allows you to optimize the co rr ection. Note that if the
Auto MCACC Setup is pe r fo r med afte r completing the fine-adjustment he r e, the co rr ection p r ecision will d r op to about 1 cm.
• Like with the Auto MCACC Setup, pe r fo r m this adjustment in as quiet an envi r onment as possible. 0.0 will be displayed if ab r upt noise is
input du r ing the adjustment.
• The distance fo r all the channels can only be made unifo r m even if the
R
(f r ont r ight) channel is adjusted in the p r ope r o r de r .
• Be ve r y ca r eful not to tip the speake r s ove r when moving them.
• The r esult of the adjustment pe r fo r med he r e can be checked by listening to the test pulses output at the
Precision Distance (SC-LX83 only)
(the test pulses will be mo r e cent r ally positioned between the speake r s than befo r e the adjustment was pe r fo r med). Be ca r eful not to change
the distance values at this time.
