Controlling the robot program in the operating mode
"Automatic" with external controller
The robot program that is currently available on the motion controller can be started,
stopped and reset externally via a higher level controller. To do this, the operating mode
"Automatic" with external controller must be active. If the operating mode "Automatic" with
teach pendant is activated, start/stop and reset signals that come from an external source
will be ignored.
The inputs "Start external" and "Reset external" and the outputs "Status ready external"
and "Status running external" are available on the motion controller to enable the robot pro-
gram to be started, stopped and reset externally. For external control of the robot program,
the relevant inputs and outputs on the motion controller must be configured in the control
cabinet (see

Prerequisites

The teach pendant is connected to the control cabinet or the bridging plug is inserted.

The operating mode "Automatic" with external controller is configured on the teach
pendant.

All safety devices are enabled.
}
The motion enable from the safety control system is present.

The necessary inputs and outputs on the motion controller are connected to the corres-
ponding inputs and outputs on the higher level controller.
