ifIndex
The ifIndex identifies an interface. It is encoded as a 10-digit decimal number in
the form of:
Where:
— RR – Is a reserved area implied to be 0
— CC – Is the chassis number in the range of 0–99
— SS – Is a slot number (always 00, denoting Not Applicable)
— L – Is a layer number in the range of 0–9
— PPP – Is a port number in the range of 0–999
See Table C-12, Layer and Port/Interface Number Assignments . Zero in any field
denotes that it is not applicable.
