Preparations and Flow of Data
Communication

The preparations required for performing packet and
64K data communication by connecting the FOMA
terminal to a PC are given below.

When you use the
FOMA PC setup
software

Install the FOMA communication configuration files (P.4).

Connect the FOMA terminal to a PC (P.3).

Check the installed FOMA communication configuration files (P.5).

Set a host.

Packet communication



“mopera U” or

“mopera” (P.9, 15)



Other provider

(P.9, 15)

Perform communication (P.11, 17).

Start up communication software that is
compatible with AT commands (P.18).

Set a host (P.18).

Set ON/OFF for the Notify caller ID (P.19).

Set up the dial-up network (P.19).

Perform the dial-up connection (P.23).

When you do not use
the FOMA PC setup
software

64K data communication



“mopera U” or

Install the FOMA PC setup software (P.7, 13).

Connecting the FOMA Terminal
to a PC

Connect the FOMA terminal to a PC when they are
powered on.



You need to set the USB mode setting of the FOMA terminal

to [Communication mode].

Open the external connection terminal cover.

Insert the external connection connector of the
FOMA USB Cable with Charge Function 01
(optional) into the external connection terminal of
the FOMA terminal until it clicks.

Connect the USB connector of the FOMA USB
Cable with Charge Function 01 to the USB terminal
of the PC.

The FOMA terminal is connected to the PC and “ ” is
displayed on the FOMA terminal.

Disconnecting the FOMA USB Cable with Charge

Function 01

Make sure to pull out the FOMA USB Cable with
Charge Function 01 horizontally while holding the
release buttons pressed.

When you remove the FOMA USB Cable with Charge
Function 01, “ ” which is displayed on the FOMA terminal
disappears.

Release buttons

Forcibly pulling out the
FOMA USB Cable with
Charge Function 01 may
cause malfunction.

Pull out the FOMA USB Cable with Charge
Function 01 from the USB terminal of the PC.

●

Do not remove the FOMA USB Cable with Charge Function

01 during data communication. Doing so may cause
malfunction, etc.

●

It is after installing the FOMA communication configuration

files that “ ” appears on the FOMA terminal.
