The Solid State Relay (SSR) board is found on the electrical panel
mounted on top of the 3
∅
transformer. It connects to the Select Cure I/O
board via a 64-conductor ribbon cable. It is a relay board for the main
contactor, blower contactor, and light towers. The SSR board also
contains 20-gage IDC connectors which connect to devices and
mechanisms throughout the system. These are then able to interface
with the ribbon cable and back to the Select Cure I/O for instructions.
The traffic control board accepts data from the four product sensors
located throughout the system and then communicates this data to the
CPU board. There are two main functions of traffic control:

Internal product monitoring (sensors 2 and 3) and board handling
S
Standard Machine Parallel Interface (SMPI) communications (sensors
1 and 4) which follows Board Passing Protocol (BPP) Refer to
Nordson Traffic Control in the Appendix for more information.
NOTE: SMPI is an optional function of the Select Cure IR oven. Refer to
Standard Machine Parallel Interface in the Appendix for more
information.
There is a five-position dip switch bank on the traffic control board. This
allows engineering personnel to choose between several optional
operating variables. Refer to the
Specifications section in the Site
Preparation and Installation Guide for dip switch settings.
The Select Cure IR oven is cooled and ventilated with two blowers. See
Figure B 1-2.
The supply blower brings filtered air into the product cooling section to
cool the entire system. A full circuit in the airflow system completes the
following:
S
cools the product, energy emitters (infrared lamps), reflectors, heating
cavity, and convection fans
S
insulates the system by keeping outer surfaces ambient,
S
provides process air to the heating cavity.
With the Select Cure oven’s cool surface temperature and single air
supply port, it can operate in any air-conditioned environment without
warming its surroundings.
