On diamond...
On the diamond side, there are three parameters:
Mode
,
Target IP Address
and
Target port number
.
Mode
- sets the communication mode of the module that sits above the frame's Ethernet connector board. There are three
possible options: CAN+IP, CAN or IP.
The default setting is CAN+IP. In this mode, the module communicates with Power Core via Ethernet, and with all other
modules in the frame via
CAN.
Choose CAN if there is no IP connection from the module to Power Core. (e.g. if the frame is daisy-chained to another
frame via CAN).
Choose IP if the frame consists of a single module that communicates with Power Core via Ethernet. In this instance,
there are no other modules within the frame and so there is no need for CAN.
Target IP Address
(Uni/Multicast) - sets the IP address for the Power Core connection.
To use Multicast , this
must match
the IP address group entered in Power Core. The default setting is 239.1.1.240
To use Unicast, enter the reciprocal IP address. So, enter the Power Core control port IP address here.
Target Port Number
- sets the port number for the Power Core connection. The default is 6040.
Note that there is no
Interface
field in diamond (as there is only one Ethernet interface per connector board).
