INFORMATION
With self-steering axle, the rear wheels are turned in by friction between wheel and
underground. In critical driving situations, when a straight line cannot be maintained, the self-
steering axle must be locked.
Critical driving situations could include:
ü
Driving on steep slopes
ü
Driving on soft ground
ü
Driving in straight direction exceeding 30 km/h
ü
Reversing
If at least one of these critical driving situation arises, the self-steering axle must always
be locked, .
Positioning steered wheels in straight direction
Drive the tractor a short distance straight forward until the steered wheels are straight.
Reverse travel
For “Medium 1.0” version:
Position wheels of self-steering axle in straight position (
) and lock the self-steering axle (
).
For “Comfort 1.0” version:
Position wheels of self-steering axle in straight position (
) and lock the self-steering axle (
).
Locking/releasing self-steering axle (for “Medium 1.0” version)
Locking
Pressurise the single-acting control unit (
) and drive the tractor a short distance
straight forward until the steered wheels are straight.
Move the single-acting control unit (
) into neutral position and lock it.

The locking cylinder prevents the wheels from turning in.

The current status of the self-steering axle is displayed in the status line, Status line.
Releasing
Depressurise the single-acting control unit (
) and set it to “Lower”.

This can largely prevent scraping of the tyres when cornering.
