BOP-1K-GL 111315
•
4 - 5 - Not Used — always zero.
•
6 - Slave Error — 1 indicates a slave fault in a master/slave configuration
•
7 - 11 - Not Used — always zero.
•
12 - Voltage Protect Error — 1 indicates a Voltage protection error has been detected.
NOTE: If External Reference is enabled and a protection error occurs, both Voltage Protect
Error (bit 12) and Current Protect Error (bit 13) are set
•
13 - Current Protect Error — 1 indicates a Current protection error has been detected.
•
14 - Sinking — 1 indicates the unit is absorbing energy from the load.
•
15 Not Used — always zero.

SCPI PROGRAM EXAMPLES
Refer to Appendix B, Figures B-1 through B-13 for examples illustrating the use of SCPI com-
mands.
Figure 3-12 is an example of a program using SCPI commands to program the BOP Power
Supply. The program illustrated is for a configuration using an IBM PC or compatible with a
National Instruments GPIB interface card. (It will be necessary to consult the manufacturer’s
data to achieve comparable functions with an interface card from a different manufacturer.) This
program sets output voltage (Voltage mode) or voltage limit (Current mode) to 5V, and current
limit (Voltage mode) or output current (Current mode) to 1A, then reads the measured (actual)
voltage and current, then prints the measurements.

OPERATOR TROUBLESHOOTING
If the unit does not behave as expected, refer to the following procedure for problems that can
be corrected without referring the unit for repair. Refer to Figure 2-2 for power-up switch loac-
tions.
1. Immediately after power-up, if the unit beeps in groups of two, power-up switch S2 is incor-
rectly set up. If the unit beeps in groups of three, power-up switch S3 is improperly setup. If
it is beeping on and off, power-up switch S1 is incorrectly set up. Verify that power up-
switches are set to the proper configuration. If necessary, turn unit off, reset switches and
turn power on again.
2. Verify all connections are properly wired and connections are tight.
3. If the MASTER/SLAVE LED is blinking - Is this a unit with a slave attached? if not, power off
unit and set Switch S2 to 00001 (S2-1 to on, all the rest off). Power up unit.
4. Verify that saved parameter(s) are not overriding the power-up switches by sending queries
for each power-up parameter to verify it is set to the configuration indicated by the power-up
switches. (NOTE: It is recommended that parameters saved using MEM:UPD be noted on
the unit to avoid unexpected behavior.)
a. If querying the power-up parameters is not possible or not easily performed, reset the lim-
its by first recording the current power-up switch settings, then performing a reset power-
up per PAR. 3.3.2.1.
