IMPORTANT:
For additional installation and configuration information, see the documentation
that ships with the option.
To install the component:
1.
Power down the server (on page
17
).
2.
Remove all power:
a.
Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b.
Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3.
Do one of the following:
o
Extend the server from the rack (on page
17
).
o
Remove the server from the rack (on page
20
).
4.
Remove the access panel (on page
21
).
5.
Remove the PCI riser cage (on page
23
).
6.
Remove the baffle from the controller board.
IMPORTANT:
There is no need to remove the baffle when the controller card is installed in slot 1.
Slot 1 is a full-height, half-length slot, so it supports the baffle in place while slot 2 and slot 3 do
not.
7.
If installing a P440 or H240 controller card into slot 2, remove the default bracket from the card and
install the low-profile bracket that comes with the option.
8.
If you intend to use a cache module and a HP Smart Storage Battery, install these options now
