Use the Record Text Positions submenu to select one of the seven different on-screen
text items for each camera, or to turn these text items “OFF”. Text “OFF” conditions for
each camera appear as two dashes. The seven available text items include:
•
Date - displays a maximum of thirteen characters, made up of the date along
with three characters for the day (i.e., 12-FEB-99 FRI). The format is selectable
from the Time/Date menu.
•
Time - displays eight or nine characters, depending on whether the recorder is
programmed for a 12 or 24 hour clock (i.e., 08:28:44A). The format is selectable
from the Time/Date menus.
•
Status_1 - displays a maximum of ten characters . Displays the following indicators:
Power Loss, Number of Alarms, and Tape Management System (i.e., PL A4 TMS).
•
Status_2 - displays a maximum of eleven characters maximum. Displays the
following indicators: Record Speed, Timer, Lock, and current alarm (i.e., 240 T L V15).
•
System - displays up to 24 characters for the system code, as programmed in the
Display Options menu.
•
Title_1 - displays up to 24 characters for the camera title line number 1, as
programmed in the Camera Titles menu.
•
Title_2 - displays up to 24 characters for the camera title line number 2, as
programmed in the Camera Titles menu.
Also use the Record Text Positions submenu to set up to four of the twelve of the on-
screen text to left or right justification. If two text items are placed on the same line, one
left justified and one right justified, the program will, if necessary, truncate the text to
the 24 characters per line limit.
Select the Preview submenu to view the actual text and its placement on the screen for
each of the connected cameras. Then use the UP and DOWN front panel buttons to view
each available camera. Press the PROGRAM button to return back to the Record Text
Positions submenu.
While in the Preview menu, press the V-POS and H-POS buttons on the front panel of
the VCR to move all the text for each camera as a block. Each time the V-POS button is
pressed the entire text block moves vertically one position. If pressed repeatedly, the
text eventually returns to its starting position. If the V-POS button is used, the line
numbers that appear in the Record Text Positions submenu may no longer match the
actual position of the text. Press the H-POS button to move the entire text block for each
camera as a group in the horizontal direction.

Note: V-POS and H-POS op-
erate independently of the Text
Position settings in the Display
Options submenu. It is pos-
sible that the POS and Display
Options settings may conflict
with each other. See the “Posi-
tions and Alarm Controls”
section of this manual for more
information.
Also use the Text Position set-
ting to set the individual
positions of the Date, Time,
and System Code lines,
whereas V-POS and H-POS
move these three lines as a
group.
