Getting Started

LiveTouch Manager

effects and finishing tools, enabling you to take highlights and playlists directly into the 
editing interface for enhanced capabilities. You can then publish content directly back into 
the LiveTouch playout library.

LiveTouch Manager

LiveTouch ISA Manager

As video is recorded and ingested into the video server, the LiveTouch ISA keeps track of 
where each frame is stored along with any associated metadata, and the storage location in 
which the clips reside. You can search the LiveTouch ISA from a 

Web Bin

 to find clips or 

playlists indexed by the LiveTouch Manager.

The LiveTouch ISA usually hosts the LiveTouch Manager on a Virtual Machine.

LiveTouch Manager Virtual Machine

The LiveTouch Manager provides interface services to all connected LiveTouch Panels and 
Desktop Clients on the system. The LiveTouch Manager stores the clip highlights database 
(

Clips Library

), tracks users, loads tagging source files and provides user control of the SDI 

ports.

LiveTouch Server

The LiveTouch Server is based on the family of Grass Valley sQ Server platforms, which form 
the core of Grass Valley’s fast turnaround news production and replay systems. The Server is 
a compact video storage server containing all the components required to acquire, record, 
store and mange content in a shared production workflow.

The LiveTouch Server manages both SDI Ingest and Playout at resolutions of 720/1080i, 
1080p or UHD, depending on your selected configuration. Up to 25.6 TB of internal SSD 
storage can be supplied as required. The Server can work independently or in combination 
with other LiveTouch servers, with its compact design occupying only three rack units.

Each LiveTouch Server is factory configured either as an SD (standard definition), HD (high 
definition) or UHD (ultra-high definition) networked distribution server, employing industry 
standard compression systems.
