GEF-VH Series Fryers Only

Ventless Hood

GEF-VH Fryers produced after Feb 2016 are equipped with an E.A.C. Filter Cleaning Timer. This feature was

developed to help Users adhere to the proper Filter Cell cleaning routine. Timely cleaning is necessary to ensure

the Hood section continues to effectively clean the air. After a preset time, the Timer prompts the User that it is

time to clean the Collection Cell, or exchange it with one that has been cleaned previously. If the time period

expires and the Cell is not cleaned (exchanged) the Fryer is disabled and remains so until cleaning (exchange) is

performed.
If this shutdown occurred during a peak demand period, or while cooking is in progress, a

SNOOZE

feature is

provided to enable continued operation for a short time, .
When the necessary Filter maintenance is performed, the timer automatically resets, normal operation is restored,

and a new countdown cycle begins.
Timer Indicator Lights and Snooze Button are located on the left side of the Fryer Control Panel.

CHANGE SOON

The amber indicator illuminates when the Timer enters

WARNING

mode. Appliance continues to operate, and if

the cell is cleaned (exchanged) within the next

24 hours,

the Timer automatically resets and begins a new

countdown period.

CHANGE NOW

The red indicator illuminates when the Timer enters

TIMEOUT

mode, signaling that allowed time between

cleanings has expired. An audible alarm sounds, and the

appliance will shutdown. It will remain disabled until E.A.C.

Cell cleaning (exchange) is completed. The

POWER

and

HEAT

lights will turn

OFF

Placing the Power Switch in the

[OFF]

position silences the

alarm. Returning switch to

[ON]

will not restart the

appliance until the Cell is cleaned (exchanged).

SNOOZE Button

In the event that

TIMEOUT

occurred during a period of high

customer demand or while cooking is in progress, a snooze

feature is provided. Pressing the

SNOOZE

Button

temporarily resets the Timer back to

WARNING

mode for a

period of

hours, allowing continued operation.

Only two (2) snooze periods can be used. During the

second snooze period, the

CHANGE SOON

light will flash,

indicating the Timer is in final snooze. After a second

snooze period has expired the appliance is locked-out and

cannot be restarted until the E.A.C. Cell is cleaned

(exchanged).
