2.3.2.2 Change Output Phase
The Phase Change menu is accessed via a softkey from the CW menu.
• The minimum and maximum values allowed are +/- 180.00 degrees
• The maximum step size is +180.00 degrees and the minimum is +0.01 degrees
The output phase is NOT changed until the
“SET”
softkey is pressed.
The “Change
Φ
by:” value can be set, reset, or dialed in with the knob with NO change in output phase.
The phase will change by the amount selected each time the “
SET
” softkey is pressed. For example,
pressing “
SET
” twice when “Change
Φ
by:” is set to +90 degrees will shift your output phase by +180
degrees.

CWFreq > 4 GHz
For frequencies equal to and above 4 GHz, the output phase will shift at once with no delays.
CWFreq < 4 GHz
For frequencies below 4 GHz, the phase shift will be applied many times, with a delay, to account for frequency division in lower bands.
Also, the phase shift will be broken down into increments of ten degrees, sent multiple times with delays, at frequencies under 4 GHz.
This introduces some additional error not seen from 4 GHz and up. The typical worst case time to complete the phase shift is
1.7 s (11 MHz with 179 degrees shift) . See table below for other typical times.
