4.5.3

Mode Related Calibrations

Whenever this mode of operations is selected (as always, through the AM Menu) and the AM function
is turned on, the instrument automatically performs a calibration of the modulator at whatever output
frequency has been selected. Whenever either the frequency, power level, or both are to be changed,
the preferred procedure is to switch the AM function off, make whatever frequency and/or power level
changes are desired, then switch AM function back on. This technique provides the best possible
accuracy for SCAN over its 60 dB range.
