Front Panel Operation

Publication 31231, Rev. J, October 2003

Deviation

This parameter field allows setting the deviation for the frequency modulation. The deviation is set directly

since the modulation generator output is a fixed level. The deviation limits are the same as with external

modulation.

The phase modulation menu is accessed by a softkey labeled “Switch to

M” in the FM menu (See figure on

previous page). The softkey label will change to “Switch to FM” once in

M (See figure on right side above). If

another mode is entered, and then the “FM” front panel key is pressed, the FM/

M menu previously in will be

displayed. The FM and

M menus On/Off status, wide/narrow mode, and sensitivity are independent and

remembered when switching back and forth
