The following are SCPI mandated commands. The command syntax is followed by a description of the
command. Many of these commands refer to the Status System, which is discussed in detail in
Section 3.2.4. Commands beginning with an asterisk are IEEE 488.2 Common Commands.

Clear Status. This command clears the event registers in all status groups. It also clears the

Event Status Register and the Error/Event Queue.

*IDN?

Syntax:

*IDN?

Description:

Identification query. The response takes the form of four ASCII fields separated by commas.

The fields are: (1) Manufacturer, (2) Model, (3) Serial Number, and (4) Firmware Level or

Equivalent. Fields 1 and 2 are required; fields 3 and 4 are filled by zeros if the data is not

available.

Syntax:

Description:

Operation Complete. This command causes the Operation Complete bit (that is, Bit 0 of the

Standard Event Status Register) to be set to 1 when all pending selected device operations

have been finished.
